Museum of Ulster – ‘Window On Our World Gallery’

-
immersive won the contract to design a large-scale fully immersive permanent installation at the Ulster Museum, Belfast.
We had to respond to the creative brief set by Haley Sharpe Design, and working under their direction and vison, our Creative and Technical departments worked hand in hand with the Museums curators to design 10 AV films that will be shown on the hour every day. Each film is a response to one of ten objects installed in the main orientation space. These objects reflect one of ten spaces in the Museum itself.

The films are structured in three sections. The first section is where we wow the viewer with highly stylized immersive graphics and audio. The second section is where we projection map onto the objects in the main case as a way of bringing the viewers attention back to the object (s) in question, and the third section is a collaborative exercise in inter-authorship between the curators and ourselves. To do this we created a de stijl framework as a graphic vehicle to carry all the photos and video that we collected with the curators.

The entire video installation of twelve projectors is run by two Addict Media Servers outputting 6 HD images each, alongside the impressive sound track to each piece through a Martin Audio surround sound system
